Committee Responsibilities

Committees are the backbone of the GSO. They are responsible for both creating policy (from what funds we offer, to our Constitution & Bylaws itself) and carrying it out (providing student support, hosting events, running elections, addressing grievances, etc.)

Senators are highly encouraged to participate in GSO Committees, where the work of setting policies begins. However, committees are also responsible for engaging with the Senate throughout the process of developing policies. The Senate has final approval of all GSO policies and may choose to reject policies that were developed without their input.

For more details on each committee, please see the GSO Constitution, Article VIII and Bylaw 1.

Please reach out to the committee chair if you are interested in getting involved.
