Our Mission

decorative

The Graduate Student Organization (GSO) is an organization that represents all Binghamton University graduate students. The mission of the GSO is to liaise between graduate students and university entities to ensure that graduate student needs are met. The GSO is composed of senators and representatives from all the academic departments on campus, as well as an Executive board that addresses graduate student issues and concerns. We provide several types of funding for graduate students, helpful information in our communications and social events that draw graduate students together across disciplines.

Constitution & Bylaws

The GSO Bylaws are updated & maintained by the Constitution, Bylaws, and Chartering Committee and approved by a 2/3rds vote of the Senate. For changes to the Constitution itself, an additional additional majority vote of the graduate student body is required. If you would like to suggest edits to the Constitution & Bylaws, or join the committee, please reach out to our Vice President at vp@gsobinghamton.org.

GSO Budget

Our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. The GSO Budget for each year is created by Treasurer and reviewed by the Budget Committee before approval by the Senate. If you would like to suggest changes for next year’s budget, or join the committee, please reach out to the Treasurer at treasurer@gsobinghamton.org.
