Senate Responsibilities
Senators have three main responsibilities:
- Reviewing & approving GSO policies. Including:
- Yearly referenda (bylaw 3, section 25)
- Funding Guidlines
- GSO budget (bylaw 8, section 4)
and the Constitution & Bylaws (Article X).
- Overseeing GSO officer positions. Including:
- Approving appointed officers
- Ratifying election results
- Reviewing officers’ reports
- Recalling officers if need be (bylaw 3, section 26).
- Liaising between sub-organizations and the GSO E-Board.
Senators serve as the main line of communication between the sub-organizations and the GSO E-Board: Relating the org events and concerns to the E-Board, and disseminating information back to their orgs.
Senators are highly encouraged to participate in GSO Committees, where drafting & updating policies begins.
GSO senators are elected by their constituent departments. Please speak to your departmental org if you are interested in running for a Senate position.

Senate Meetings will be held at 4pm on Friday, unless otherwise noted. Meeting location is TBD.
- Friday, 9/4 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm in the GSO Lounge (Library North 1104 – by Jazzman’s)
- Friday, 9/18 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- Friday, 10/2 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- Friday, 10/23 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- Friday, 11/6 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- Friday, 11/20 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- Friday, 12/4 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm
